Kids' Shed

Our education room is a funky outback shed, where students can become a palaeontologist for a day. It’s packed with interactive tools, such as real fossils, bones, skulls and a big, heavy chunk of stalagmite.

Schools can use this space to enrich student learning about geology and the caves. It's a fantastic base for hands-on educational activities, such as digging for real fossils in our sand pits, fossil identification, or reconstructing skeletons.

A lesson in the Kids' Shed works particularly well after a visit to the Victoria Fossil Cave and the Wonambi Fossil Centre.

The shady verandah at the front of the Kids’ Shed is a perfect spot for a lunch break. Students can bring their own, or your group may wish to order in advance from the Caves Café.
