Current research

Research at the Naracoorte Caves takes many shapes and forms. The diverse range of natural and cultural aspects of Naracoorte Cave National Park make it extremely valuable for scientific research.

Findings from the very first research projects conducted at the Caves are still used in the interpretation of the site for visitors and, together with the results of more recent studies, reflects the importance of research for increasing knowledge of the values, informing best-practice management and communicating and engaging visitors and the local community with the site’s World Heritage values.
