OZACT celebrates its 20th Anniversary with its forthcoming season of Shakespeare in the Great Outdoors.

OZACT’s Autumn Tour returns to the spectacular limestone underground wonderland of Naracoorte Caves on April 10 & 11 with As You Like It.

OZACT first performed Shakespeare in the Caves in 2003, and since that time have brought to life many of Shakespeare's classics including: A Midsummer Nights Dream, King Lear, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, and Twelfth Night.

As You Like It is Shakespeare’s most exhilarating comedy. Set in city and country; the two central characters Rosalind and Orlando have been banished from from Court. In fear of their lives, they seek sanctuary in the Forest of Arden. Escaping from what they most fear, they both discover what they most love. Sparkling with wit this joyous tale of a girl disguised as a boy, who tempts the man she loves, to fall for the boy she isn't, is flavoured with all the longing and pain of everyone's first romance.

Naracoorte Caves are a spectacular underground wonderland, a network of caves with delicate stalactites and huge stalagmites. With this stunning backdrop and natural acoustics, the Caves provided the perfect setting for Shakespeare’s greatest works.

An impressive cast has been gathered for this production, with experienced actors and talented performers drawn from Ballarat, Melbourne and regional Victoria. The production is directed by Bruce Widdop. The cast includes: Simon Alderman, Jessica Chapman, Jayden Chivers, Lisa Dallinger, Andy Delves, Bart Harrowell, Seton Pollock, Eleanor Ruth, Marie-Claire Tchernomoroff, Patrick Tucker, Matthew Young with production and design support from Lisa Widdop.

Bring a rug, cushion, and someone you love, or a whole group of people you love, and escape to the fantastical Forest of Arden to share with courtiers and country-folk, philosophers and clowns the camaraderie, and comedy, trials and triumphs of love.

OZACT proudly acknowledges the support of Naracoorte Lucindale Council and Naracoorte Caves.
